Alfalfa Sprouts
Last night I stopped by Thriftway on the way home and picked up veggies, similar to Gina’s roasted vegetables – zucchini, yellow squash, white onion, roma tomatoes, green pepper, alfalfa sprouts, but sautéed it all in olive oil and a little water for steam and cooking (peppers, tomatoes and sprouts towards the end). The alfalfa sprouts are more palatable (less musty tasting) once they mix with the juices. For lunch today I added to the leftovers chives coming up in the herb bed, spinach and more sprouts. My seasoning was just ground coarse sea salt. I am at phase 1 and not buying phase 2, 3 and 4 (everything you can’t eat) foods until next week or the week after, and the refrigerator is almost cleaned out, except for fresh veggies. There is still a little bit of tempting spiral ham (may have to freeze that!), and the memory of my former life of eating.
