Some Questions That Have Come Up
Some questions whose answers might be of general interest...
1) Canned soup? No, just make your own soup, there are recipes in the packets and 10,008 more online. Canned soup may contain chemicals, preservatives and definitely contains lots of sodium. Many restaurants and "fast food" type places just use big cans of soup so make your own. I suspect the deli at Whole Foods does not but you might ask just in case.
2) Decaf coffee? No. Part of this process is recognizing you are not your habits and that you have control over them. Replacing caf. coffee with decaf. coffee is more of a band-aid instead of a mindful "cure". You don't need it, that's the important thing to garner from this cleanse. Next thing you'll think about is nutra sweet and non-dairy creamer? Just let it go... Besides, decaffeinated coffee is like non-alcoholic beer - the drink itself just doesn't taste good enough to drink it without it's potency.
3) Beets & Radishes? Yes! Beets should be considered starchy vegetables, radishes are regular vegetables.
Enjoy!

I didn't have any coffee this morning! I went from 2 cups on Sat to 1 1/2 on Sun, 1/2 yesterday and ZERO today!!! I feel calm, I think, or spaced out maybe. Not sure, but I know if I was having decalf instead, I might feel frustrated. So I'll take calm and/or spaced for now! It's really not that bad!
I found it was the hot beverage in the morning that I particularly enjoy, not the coffee (although last year it was also the caffeine) If you are cutting down, you may try a nice herbal tea in its place.
I love the different flavors of green tea. Constant Comment Green Tea is orange and spicy (by Bigelow). The Raspberry Green Tea by Celestial Seasonings is really good and it masks the flavor of the dandelion tincture really well.
I think Numi makes a green Chai tea and I am going to try that one next.
