Smile!

I don't remember being this tired on Day 2 but as I told the group, my legs felt like lead after Monday's session. I was looking forward to getting to the studio and talking with everyone before we started. I got to the studio and everyone was so quiet! So, I did as requested and tried to stay quiet too. Will sat next to me and we shared a brief but quiet conversation. More quiet. Except for the fountain. For some reason (and maybe this is my particular emotion today) I found the bubbling noise from the fountain to be really funny. I think because we are constantly in the bathroom during cleanse week and listening to the fountain might make people have to go - like running water, you know? I really thought I was going to have to go into the hall and laugh out loud BUT I held it in.
So later in the morning, we were doing one of our many challenging poses and Ashley related a story about one of her teachers getting people into difficult poses then telling them to smile. This registered appropriately at the time and I went on. THEN - while doing some killer ab stuff, Mike says, "Smile" and that's when I lost it (I am even laughing now). I laughed out loud through the rest of that ab work and everytime I would start to gain control, Mike or Julie would laugh too. I think it spread to others down the line also.
I do apologize if my outburst was a nuisance to anyone else but it was exactly what I needed to get through the rest of the class. The silence after the laugh was much sweeter than before and I felt like I had been able to share it - at least with Mike and Julie (thanks guys!)
**Even as I proof read this and I read "Smile" from Mike, I am still laughing :)

Laughter is what got me through the class. I was very tired today.

The smile was such a novel idea and an unexpected lift! Becky, I had a massage this afternoon followed by a bath, and I highly recommend it for the tired body. I felt so good afterward--well, good and depleted at the same time--that I found myself toying with the thought of lunar yoga tonight. Ha ha...See you tomorrow.
