The joy of naps

I had a wonderful nap this afternoon. Did anyone else indulge today?

Yes, I came home and took one. It was just what I needed.

I have indulged every day. I'm tired because of the lack of caffeine and nicotine. My naps have been lasting about 3 hours. I hope my energy returns soon.

I sprawled on the sofa for about 20 minutes at about 10:15 - even set the timer. The phone rang with about three minutes left. Talked on the phone - still felt tired and reset the timer for 20 minutes. Phone rang again with about 5 minutes left. Didn't answer it but I still felt sludgy so I reset the alarm for another 20 minutes. Slept hard for that 20 minutes. Considered another 20 minutes but decided to get some work done - felt ok for the rest of the day. Tomorrow, I will abandon all - set the timer for 60 minutes, turn off the phone and snooze! That's my nap story and I'm sticking to it :)

Yes, I had a nap today 1 hour today. I felt very low energy. Yesterday I had a nap also. I think I am unconsciously being aware that I have to be awake and at the studio at 6:00 so I am not getting as restful of sleep. Also, change of diet and no caffine. I find myself getting up more often throughout the night. So the naps help. Tonight I am going to take a bath before bedtime maybe that will help.

I had a great nap! I'm usually unable to take naps. I grew-up with a mother who suffered from depression and sleep alot during the day. To this day it sort of freaks me out to sleep in the day! But TODAY is a new day and I deserved a nap, took it and thoroughly! :)

My mother also is mentally ill. Being raised in a dysfunctional household, your understanding of what is normal changes. I think our tendency is to do an opposite extreme from how we were raised. One of the hardest skills to practice is balance, and Melina I applaud your balance yesterday!
Love,
Allison
