Do you think things that irritates us is what we what to become more like or what we are like that we don't like. Possible a combo?
I can't remember a time that I've been irritated by people behaving in a way I admired but I definitely struggle with irritation for people who behave badly. So in response to Leslie, for me I'd have to say it's more things I don't like that irritate me and that watching that irritation come up teaches me a lot, especially to look for the root of the irritating behavior and turn that irritation into compassion.
I also can not become irritated by people behaving a way I admire but I guess it might be that I am striving to have a quality that they have, that I wish to have so maybe that would be envy or irritation on my part.Instead of using them to be teacher, which is what yoga teaches. The more I awake the better I see.
