I believe the farmer's market (downtown) is still up and running on weekends... and there is a vendor that sells spices (almost any) really reasonably. So if you want to spice up your veggies for next week, that may be the place to go.

A link to the site... http://kc-citymarket.com/

In terms of prep week - I am avoiding meats, chocolate, and fried stuff... but pasta and wine is hard to pass up.

Zestfully hoping for cleansing,
Jim

"Zestfully", I love it!!! Speaking of zest, the zest of a lemon mixed with lemon juice and olive oil, sea salt and pepper is a nice "dressing" for green beans and similar veggies, broccoli, etc.

Hi Yogis,
I'm having fun during this pre-cleanse week, shopping, chopping and adding a few more yoga practices to my schedule. I am amazed at how good I feel in such a short time. I am use to eating 4 or 5 times a day, high protien. I have a big appetite. I thought I would be hungrier but I'm not. I have lost 4 lbs in 7 days, loving that. But it's more than that. It's like my body is thanking me for being so good to it. I have to say my friends think I am crazy but I don't care because as Gina said we are setting good examples. Although cafine is a hard habit to kick. I am loving the green tea or so I keep telling myself. Anyway looking forward to Mon., Have a good weekend. The real test is Sat. Girls night out. They are all excited because the have a D.D. Looking at it as a adventure unknown.

When I gave up alcohol, social gatherings became a whole new experience! I absolutely love being the designated driver and I really love not feeling dry and achy the next day. I also find that I don't stay out nearly as late - I used to find it hard to be one of the first to bail out and go home, I was always the one there to help finish that last bottle of wine. When I do go out with friends, I always get cranberry juice (good for the bladder!). It's also fun to get a new, sober perspective on a lot of the things your friends are going through and talking about. I find it helps me serve them better when I hear them through sober ears. I think you'll be surprised how much you like it Leslie! Thanks for all your enthusiasm and positivity!
