Food suggestions
Eating a lot of fresh fruits and vegetables is optimal. But, if you're lazy like me, here's a couple of options that Suzanne has turned me onto:
1. Ultimate Meal. It's a powder that we put in a blender with blueberries, bananas and apple juice to make a smoothie. Chock-full of a lot of good stuff, mostly organic and totally vegan. Available at Wild Oats and at www.ultimatelife.com.
2. Dr. McDougall's cups. Also vegan. Just add boiling water and stir. On sale at Wild Oats and at www.rightfoods.com
3. My massage therapist-who we went to right after the yoga class on Saturday-recommended Lydia's Organics, particularly their trail mix which is made with sprouted seeds. Check them out at www.lydiasorganics.com
Basically, you could live on ultimate meal, cups and trail mix, never go to a store, and only spend about three minutes a day on meal prep. That way you'd have more time for yoga and meditation!

Thanks for the helpful hints. What is the powder? Is it a protien of some sort? Sounds good for a meal on the go. I love new suggestions. New food choices help me have fun with it.I'm all for healthy fast meals. We need them in drive-thru style.
I'd love for you to all have the chance to read "If The Buddha Came To Dinner". I ordered a bunch of copies for the boutique in case you're interested. The main question is, if the Buddha were coming to your house for dinner, would you feed him a powdered shake? Probably not. So why do we feed ourselves like that? The book explores your relationship with food and just may inspire you to cook more nourishing, vital, prana-filled yet simple foods for yourself. I think we realized this week that we have time for what we want to have time for and maybe food and the way we eat should get bumped a couple notches up the ladder? Eating and food preparation is just another opportunity to be mindful, another step towards samadhi, bliss, contentment. Bring it on....
