Dinner & A Movie

More fun to be had! If you're interested, join us for dinner before the movie at Korma Sutra (4113 Pennsylvania) which is right near the Tivoli Theater. We're planning on arriving around 5:30pm. Korma Sutra is my favorite Indian restaurant and is deelish! The only weirdism about Korma Sutra is that I don't believe they have seating for large groups. They have a lot of booths for 4 and tables for 4, maybe some 6 tops so we'll just do our best to be seated near each other!

5:30pm at Korma Sutra
7:00pm at Tivoli for Peaceful Warrior

Keep checking the Tivoli website for advance purchase on the tickets. If that doesn't work, I plan on buying our tickets before dinner!

Looking forward to the fun!

Post from Jerri about Friday night

Hi,

I'm back from a week in Minneapolis and ready--oh so ready--to get back to the studio.

Anyway, I can't for the life of me remember my password for the blog, so I'm writing to ask you to post for me. I'm planning to go to the movie Friday evening and will be happy to drive. Paula (my VW bug) can hold two normal people or one normal and two tiny people in addition to me.

Can't wait to see you all. Plus the movie, of course.

Namaste,
Jerri

Question from surrogate blog poster (Gina): Jerri, does this mean you count as one of the "normal" people or not? :)

Friday movie

I would love to go to the movie on Friday night, but I would have to bring Harley with me. I might also bring a neighbor; does anybody think that's a problem?

Yet Another Kula Reunion Idea

Before seeing Gina's post about the movie (a wonderful idea!) I sent out an e-mail to everyone about a possible lunch at Bollywood. Maybe we can wait and have lunch in September. We can never have too many excuses to get together!

It will be so good to see everyone after these busy and hot summer days.

Sounds like a Kula Reunion to me...

Awhile back our dear Mike Hobick recommended a book to me which Jeff and I promptly bought and listened to. We both enjoyed it thoroughly and learned a lot. I took down pages and pages of quotes from it - excellent!

So while checking out something else, I've found that the movie version of the book is coming to The Tivoli Theater in Westport on Friday, August 25th.

It's called "The Peaceful Warrior" and it's based on Dan Millman's excellent book called "Way of the Peaceful Warrior". Without specifically saying so, the book (and presumably the movie) incorporate many of the central teachings of yoga. I have ordered several copies of the book to sell in the boutique if you are interested. They should be here any day now.

This could be a fun opportunity to all go see a movie together...

Email from 2 of the Beckys

Hi gang,

Becky P. emailed me from her road trip with her daughter and brother. She said it's been cold??!?!?!? Tell me quickly, where are you?! She also said she misses us and her practice and that it's been hard to grab some time to meditate and do her "on the road" asana practice. But, she did get to visit a studio in San Francisco and that it was fun. I will try to post 2 pictures she sent along here:

And also Becky G. dropped a note saying hello and that she missed us and that they were enjoying their long overdue vacation.

Hope to see you on Sunday at the Pranayama & Meditation Sadhana and if not from 9:30-10:30, please feel free to show up afterwards to welcome our Race for the Cure runners home and offer them some TLC and snacks!

Namaste,

Gina

Adventurous Yoginis Run For the Cure Team Offerings

Namaste Kula!

Some members of our kula and other friends have come together as "Adventurous Yoginis" to race for the cure on Sunday, August 13. Some of us are not able to participate in the race itself but would love to help the Adventurous Yoginis in their efforts towards a cure for breast cancer.

Michelle, our team captain, has set up a donation page for anyone who would like to help:

http://www.active.com/donate/KC2006/MOberbr

I hope you'll consider making an offering if you have the means and if not, maybe you would like to join us for a restorative "cool down" after the race.

Love and light to all (and thank you Michelle!),
Gina
